For you, Untitled – by Ray Sharp

I give you this poem,
simple as an egg
speckled and still warm.
Feel it in the cup
of your palm, how it rolls
over your lifeline
and settles, light
but palpable, a thin shell
around a small world.

Ray Sharp writes poetry inspired by the landscape of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Sharp is the author of two books and several chapbooks, and blogs at His next poetry collection, A Is for Atheist, B Is for Buddhist, is scheduled for publication in fall 2017.
